hello, just my 2 sense worth: as Harm always stated: use as many ssd's as possible which to me means 4: 1 OS 2 media cache 3 footage 4 export if you watch task manager / resource monitor (for a while to get used to see what it's doing) you can watch how the computer executes its duties the final export i believe actually does use the media cache drive once your done with the final render/export then you can delete the media cache but if you open the project up again, the media cache will be created again... you should invest in more ssds and larger capacity cheers, j

hello, i am choosing hidevolution because of the prema bios option that the other companies don't offer i am going for the evoc clevo p750dm2-g 15.6" unit with windows 7 pro (i provide my own product key) i'm only using samsung evo ssd's so windows 7 plays nicely i only use adobe cs6 the unit has 4 ssd's and a skylake 4.2 ghz i7 with a gtx 1070 a 1080x1920 120hz display and to me it's portable cheers, j

Hello, I configured a clevo/sager super laptop from hidevolution.com with a 1070 gpu and windows 7 with cs6 Bill was very helpful in my thread with his knowledge i'm torn between a 15.6" unit or a 17.3" unit but i am getting 4ssds: os, media cache, footage, final export can't wait to take delivery cheers, jeff (thanks Bill)

Hi Bill, thanks for the info at which point i can continue with the build and get one of the new m.2 samsung's when they arrive 1) my basic plan (all ssd's) c: os (windows 7 64 bit) d: media cache e: final render f/g/h/i/j: footage i'm thinking of using the m.2 for 'final render' drive 2) the reason for 2 gpus is to run more than 4 displays 4 in the main editing room (for audio and/or video) 1 in the vocal booth 1 projector in the big room (and room to expand) cheers, j

hello Bill, can you say how much ram you have in the rig and what processor please? i'm configuring something at puget and might do 2 geforce 1080s with a 10core 4.0ghz processor and i'm curious of whether to get 64gb orf ram or 128gb of ram... i use photoshop, PPro, AE CS6 with windows 7 64 bit thanks again for your help an knowledge... jeff i like to superfutureproof...

hello, i shot/imported 1 hour 15 minutes of birdfeeder footage i copied the AVCHD folder and subfolders onto local hdd (the stream folder contained 7 clips) started a new project and went to media browser navigated to avchd folder and only 1 clip was displayed dragged that onto timeline, conformed and whoopee 1 long clip with no breaks, glitches, or disappointment also after studying file structure of the birdfeeder footage i went back to the graduation footage and created the top folders: AVCHD, BDMV and moved the subfolders into the right spot started a new project and went to media browser navigated to avchd folder and only 1 clip was displayed dragged that onto timeline, conformed and whoopee 1 long clip with no breaks, glitches, or disappointment a huge thanks to joe bloe premiere, jim simon, fuzzy barsik, stephen spider, steven gotz, stan jones, kevin monahan, john t. smith, jamesp2, jason van patten, zach rosing, and steve hoeg you guys rock i'm using AME to export my principal's graduation speech from last year to send to him so he can see how to improve his jokes for this year's June 22 ceremony... have a wonderful evening... will be purchasing the boxed academic version of cs6 production premium asap cheers, j
